Yes, they did an excellent job with the first episode jumping right into the main plot for the story. It was a little abrupt, but even so, they've done a wonderful job developing subplots already. Why more TV with this level of writing in them doesn't make it on to the air, I don't know.

I have the feeling we are going to be going a lot of places in this season. Season One had a ballsload of twists. It's quite hard to have one single plot arc last twenty-four episodes. They've done it about as well as can be expected, although the average viewer is likely to be overwhelmed.

Yes, considering how much story they have to tell, they are moving along very quickly so far this season. It really makes me wonder what they have in store in the episodes yet to come.

Just thought I'd update Peacock's body count.

They said on the show 27 people died in the CTU bombing, plus the three bombers were shot by Jack and their leader committed suicide. So I believe, unless I am missing someone, the number of dead is up to 35.

I know...this is so morbid. :P

I'm really surprised at how quickly they are advancing the plot. It really makes me wonder what more they have in store. They're already getting in to things I thought it would take them a few more episodes to get in to. (like Jack shooting the bombers and next week when Tony and Reza will apparently meet) But I love it. The show never drags.

And as soon as it was mentioned a woman was the source of the CTU plans, I instantly knew it was Nina. Although up until then I was not expecting it to be her. I didn't expect her role to come up as earlier as it has. But all in all, I am eager to see how they use her.

I believe the body count is roughly 40 or so now.

Thirty-five from last week, plus Paula and another person (Palmer states there have been 29 deaths and counting from the CTU bombing.) If you figure the helicopter had a pilot, co-pilot, and the Ambassador with his assistant, that's at least four more.

My tentative total: 41 deaths.

My guess right now is 49.

30 in CTU bombing, 12 others, five (I think) during that store shootout, the mother of the little blonde girl (whose name eludes me), and the man whose throat Nina slashed on the plane.

I lost count a while ago.

This pisses me off. The show is really picking up now and after tonight's episode, there will be at least a three week hiatus because of fucking American Idol and then the State of the Union Address. So I can watch that asshole British guy tear in to no talent hacks and then listen as people clap for every five words Dubya because they're asskissers and they're just plain amazed he can get off five words in a row without error. Great...

This episode was rather average if you ask me. The plot was advanced with the President's part of the story arc, but otherwise, not too much really happened. I'm rather pissed I had to wait three weeks just to see another episode. Perhaps FOX will realize since the show's ratings are way up this season, they should NOT preempt it so damn much.

They should endup showing Kim hacked-up in pieces with her head in the freezer! This is probably the WORST subplot ever.

And seriously I wished they just let Mason die like 5 hours earlier, another boring character that does little to add to the tension.

But didn't you all predict that the plane carrying the supposed bomb was a Decoy?

Yeah Mason tried to leave. Even from the beginning the sub plot for Kim SUCKED!!!!

First it was run away from the abusive father.
Then it was save the child
Then it was get out of LA
Then it was run away from the police
Then it was "Oh no she's gonna get eaten by cougars"
Then it was "Oh no, She's with a weird isolationist guy who has guns in his bomb shelter"
Now it is "Oh no, the weird dude made me belive the nuke went off and now I'm in his bomb shelter!"

The only good thing with Kim was the part when she was getting dressed at the weird dudes house and you could see NIPPLES!!!

Kim's tits are not that big. They are, however, excellently shaped and she sure knows how make use with what she has.

I personally would "Kimnap" her in a minute and Lord, you don't want to know what I'd do next...well, to put it as my roommate described it, "I'd ride her through downtown LA searching for bomb". But why search for the bomb when everyone knows where it is...in my pants. :D

DAMMIT! They didn't chop Kim's freakin head-off and feed her to the cougars! God, she didn't even get raped! This has got to be the lamest subplot ever.... it's like watching Friends or sumthing stupid like that.

And what did i say, Mason's departure was totally unclimactic. He just went out with a whimper instead of a BANG! I was sure he was going to off himself....

They shouldn't have gotten rid of Sherry right now. What were the writers thinking? She's the most interesting character of them all... drawing you in for one more sip from the poisoned cup.

If Marie Warner is supposedly a terrorist who knew when the nuclear bomb would go off, why did she choose to have her wedding day on the exact same day as the explosion? Presumably, she lives within the blast radius, because it didn't take Tony very long to drive out to their estate. Since she was clearly trying to get OUT of the blast radius at the airport later in the evening, I think it's safe to say she's not suicidal and doesn't want to die from the nuke. Therefore, this either will be explained soon or is a MASSIVE plot hole that occured because the writers chose the wrong person to be a terrorist. Of course, this wouldn't have made sense had Reza or Bob Warner been in league with the terrorists either. So, unless they explain this by the season finale, I am going to be pretty disappointed at such sloppy writing.

I still love 24, but last year they never had such apparent carelessness in the plot...

Consider this. The bomb was scheduled to go off around 10:00 pm or so, correct? The latest the wedding would have happend is around 6:00 in the evening or so. Even with a long ceremony, it would be over in a couple hours and they could have driven off outside the blast radius to start their honeymoon. Now I will admit, this is a huge "if", considering the wedding was taking place at the house. My assumption would be that she intended to get out before the bomb was go to off, leaving behind everyone. The necessary amount of time is there for that to have happened, but it's a huge assumption.

P.S. FOX's ad campaign also ruined the cliffhanger at the end for me. Man, I hate FOX.

I actually have been waiting for that to happen. The writers have been pretty good by delaying that turn for a while now, almost to the point where I once again doubted it would happen. I'm really wondering what final twist they have in store for us. I've been kicking around ideas for a while now and I think they might involve Nina making some sort of return. I think we'll see the final connections of who masterminded allowing the bomb in the U.S. and for what reasons. Then again, it's been hard to predict the twists they've put in so far. I'm seriously wondering if that datachip will be destroyed or not and how that might totally turn things upside down.

The last episode was free of a lot of the suspense of earlier episodes. You knew all the loose ends would be tied up and really we'd see what we'd want to have seen all season: everything finally working out for the best. The usual stuff, war averted, order restored in the White House, CTU operating normally again, Kim coming out alive, and sor forth.

I did try to predict the final twist though. I knew that the writers wouldn't give us an obvious "twist" such as Jack or Sherri Palmer dying. (For a while I was wondering if Kate Warner might turn, but that really would not have made much sense.) I considered that it might be that Prescott would go forward with the attack doubting the authenticity of the evidence he was given. That would have been an interesting twist, but again unlikely. My gut felt that something would happen to Palmer. Honestly, while I liked the twist at the end and the suspense leading in to next season, I really did not like how they made it astoundingly obvious what was going to happen. The music, camera shots, and everything told you minutes in advance exactly what would happen. I was extremely disappointed with that.

All in all, I give this season a big thumbs up. The writers definately upped everything from season one delivering a far superior script with lots of action and the suspence that the show is expected to have. I will be waiting all summer to see if Palmer actually dies or not. I would hate to see that personally, as I really enjoy his character.

On a related note, I have been kicking around an idea for my own script for a season of 24, but have never gotten down to writing it. Were I able to sit down and get typing, I could probably get a summary out of the first few hours. It would need a lot of work as my personal belief is that a story meant to represent reality should be as realistic as possible and some of that realism is beyond my knowledge.

I liked the last episode too! I hope Palmer doesn't die. When does the next season come back?

I havent seen season one, but from what everyone is saying, it kicked ass, and was alot better then second season. If it was better then second season, i dont even want to watch it, since 24: Season Two was like crack-cocaine to me. I enjoyed the season finale, and cant wait for third season. I have thought of a couple cool idea's for a 245 season also, but telewriting isnt my specialty, i like screenwriting.

I was actually thinking of doing a video like this just for fun once. We are currently working on a parody of Next Friday.

If anyone would like to give me some ideas for a few 24 episodes that we could pump out let me know and i'll see what we can all do around here.
My AIM SN is Hailster17 or my e-mail addy is Hailster@new.rr.com if anyone would like to send me some ideas.

Sorry bud, I am rather anal about sharing my idea for a season of this show. :D But I assure you, the first parts are pretty good...I even have a few twists in place already. It still needs A LOT of work though.

How about this cyber..the government has arrested who they think is the person that gave Mr. Palmer this virus, and she is going to get the lethal inject in 24 hours, and it is Jacks job to prove otherwise. He gets enough evidence to prove otherwise, but only after Kate(or is it marie? the one of the sisters who wasnt marrying Reza, i always mix these two up) is killed by this woman, and Jack figures out that he had helped this woman escape free(of course, Mandy, but she plays it off like she had been in hiding since she basically disappeared if I remember correctly.)..btw, Kate and Jack get married. And once again, since Jack knows that it was in fact Mandy who gave Palmer the virus, Jack somehow has it on video tape or something(has hidden cameras in his house?), so Kim goes ahead, and like usual, gets Kimnapped..by MANDY!! hehe..

Thats an idea that had just popped up in my head.. after reading your post about the cure, then it being a couple years later, the idea just popped up..feel free to have it and work on it as you like, but if you do, give me credit somewhere, like idea by Joe Kutyba. You most likely wouldnt use that idea since it sucks, but just in case ;)

I find it much more fun to write/produce/direct movies than TV shows..I have only attempted a TV show once, and maybe ill try to tackle it again, or make a 24 spoof or something, who knows..
