Hey everyone, I am in student council in our school and I have been known to bring in many great ideas for our class and other classes in our school. Hear lately I have been having trouble thinking of some great ideas for our school. I got alot of ideas but I still need some good and better ones.... Anyways my question is... what type of events does your school have to bring the Students together

Examples are "teacher VS student sports game" "drag contest" ECT I really need some help

Also, what are some good ideas for dances at my school?

Well the possibilities are endless..

For bringing students together try and have a homecoming week game. It is where the classes compete agaisnt each other through the week and then on Friday they do contest in frount of the whole student body. It boosts school spirit and gets the groups together.

As for dances you could have a homecoming dance, back to school dance, valantine's day dance...and a bunch of others:P.

Well a good way to make money for the school...

Collect soda can bottles, from all around the neighborhood.

But maybe your schools don't need funding like ours...

We have a "Spirit Week" thing when each day of the week you dress up to a theme. I guess it just brings people together and it's a big more fun. Like...pajama day and such.

And on Halloween, they give out prizes for best costumes and all that. I guess it works because I go to a small school.

At my school we have chain links (paper) for sale and the money raised goes to a cause. At my school, we dont have homeroom every day ( We report to 1st pd. ) So we have home room on everyday that week

Monday- Sale Chains, Select Friday Activity (see below)

Tuesday- Chains, Introduce t shirts for sale with the name of the Teams playing Friday Nite on one side, andon the back- Put on phrases with each class such as "Soar with the Class of 2004" make up your own.

Wednesday- Chain Links sale again

Thursday- Distribute -shirts
Bonfire at evening.

Friday- A.M Pep Rally

Activities in PM as follows
Movie (Auditorim)
Footballl Players have a meeting

I'm going to suggest you ask the students at your school. Just get as many ideas as you can then figure out which ones are most popular, most practical, most affordable etc.
I think by doing that students will feel more involved knowing that student council members talk to them and ask for their input.
As far as dances I don't know about your school but many schools seem to have dances limited to just seniors or just juniors and seniors, so having a dance for underclassmen only might be a good idea.
Talent shows / open mike shows are fun. People get to perform a song, magic trick, tell jokes or whatever. If you try that have a signup sheet with people's names and what they're doing. That way if not enough people sign up you can cancel the event. If you do have the event, you can have those who signed up go first and then if there's time and others are interested let anyone else go up.
