Who do you think the most powerful woman in America is? I think that it is Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor because she is the deciding vote between the four democrats and four republicans. Whatever she says, pretty much goes.

O'Connor definately has a very strong position in our country, however I had in my mind Oprah Winfrey, although she obviously is not an elected or appointed government official.

Oprah.

If she told the world that you would have a dramatic life changing event if you licked her shoes people would do it...and believe it afterwards.

It's sad that the most powerful woman in our country would be a television star.

I'd either say O'Conner or Oprah. O'Conner holds a good deal of political power. But Oprah can make an emotional connection with the people.

Yes, but Oprah cannot change the country or make a huge significant impact on America. Or at least not on me.

Its funny to think that possibly the most powerful woman in America is a double minority, black and a woman. 50 years ago that would be unheard of. I think the most powerful woman in AMerica is most likely Condeleeza Rice or Oprah.....

But, in a twist if you think about it....Britney Spears is....If she said on national TV "Where your thongs on the outside" Guess what nearly every preteen girl would be wearing the next week.....

I would have to guess Hillary Clinton. She has wealth and political power, and is probably the most likely Democratic presidential candidate!

You will see in 2008. :)

My opinion is further justified by how much the right wing hates her, because they fear her coming to power.

Yes, I do fear the day when she will run for president. And yes, it is because she will have power. She will turn this country in a horrible direction. But the bad thing is, there are so many idiots out there that blindly follow her, they will not notice a thing.
