Ok, so, I remember things for the most part extremely well, I mean, I remember the little things. But everytime I talk about it, people treat me like I am a creep.
I was talking to a friend, and I had remembered that they had an album That was cool. I commented about it, and she said that it was really creepy that I remember that.
I mean, yes I do have an odd thing about searching peoples myspaces front to back if I am going to meet them, and I guess I kinda profile them. Given enough info I could almost tell where you live. lol... I do kinda want to do investigating, and I freak people out with the show "Psych" But I don't mean it in a creepy way.
But why is it that having a great memory makes me weird and crazy?

People have said I have a good memory. I suppose it comes in useful for moderating on here.

Teen to Teen I would think. But I get called that a lot too. I see people sometimes who I haven't seen in awhile and instantly remember their name and a few brief memories about them. I don't look up info, but its not a bad idea if you need to strike up a conversation about something. I try to talk about stuff very, very recently and stuff that is not from a long time ago or too personal.

Having a great memory doesn't make you weird and crazy. I'm the same as you - I have a ridiculously good memory when it comes to remembering events and statements and all sorts of other minor things. Luckily for me, my friends rather like the idea of having a permanent "memory bank" and find it useful from time to time.
The only creepy thing in your case would maybe be the "profiling" you do using others' MySpace pages. Or perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you appear to publicise it (and by that I don't mean gloat or brag, but rather discuss it and talk about it with everyone). Some people would not and do not appreciate those actions (and understandably so) and perhaps it's those people that would view you as creepy.
But having a great memory doesn't make anyone weird or crazy. It's how you use it that does.

Yes, Teen-2-Teen would be a better choice since it's not really Puberty related.

Wow. I'm the EXACT same way, my memory is like really good. I remember all the little details about everything, and sometimes my friends think it's weird. But I look at it as a good thing, I mean, with a good memory you could do a lot of good jobs when your older, and get better grades. So don't think of it as weird, think of it as a good thing. Good Luck.

Like some have said, having a great memory isn't creepy. It's actually a good thing, in school it's good, and in your social life it's also put to good use.
Just ignore the people who say it's creepy, because the truth is, it's not. :)

Haha, I think it's creepy, but in a good way. :P
When someone does that, I'll tell them that its' creepy, but it's largely without a strong negative connotation, ya know? Like, I don't mean it as an insult. So don't take it as one either. :)

They're probably just joking. I get that a lot too.

Everything depends upon the context in which you bring up something and what you remember for your memory to be creepy or not. My guess is that your friends were using "creepy" meaning more as "eery" as opposed to your recollections being scary or disturbing. You are clearly a person who really goes into detail about things, and knowing your friends very well is not a bad thing. Just make sure that when you bring up things that you evaluate the context in which you discuss it so that you won't be out of place.

I tend to remember very small things that people say for years and will bring it up. Some people like it but others don't like it.
I think it has to do with the fact that a lot of people don't pay attention to what others say and do that they find it weird when others do.

People don't understand that you just have a really good memory for some reason. There are lots of people who either have photographic memories or remember things really well. So it's actually quite normal that you have something like this.
If your friends think it's creepy, perhaps it's because they don't understand why you would have such a good memory. Given that there are not as many individuals with good memories and we'd like to think, it means that you're just more unique. Perhaps you are using more of your brain than others as well.

Yeah they aren't really serious about it I would imagine.
It's just something many people can not do and they reaction to these things is "Woah! You freak! How do you remember that?!"
I doubt they are serious though.

I'm a little odd that way too. I have a tremendous memory for trivialities, but can forget somebody's name within a week of meeting them.
This often earns me odd queries from friends, but if anything I've simply acquired a reputation for general knowledge.
I can only recommend for you, though, that you maybe don't mention the whole researching people thing. While they have stuck that information out there, it does seem like you're coming on a little strong to most girls.

They arent calling you a creep simply because you remember things its the fact that you remember things that are personal about them from a while ago. People in general dont like it when you invade their privacy. Looking is one thing but when you remember in excess, people tend to feel that you are the creepy stalker type. Now Im not saying that you are and maybe you mean well but thats where they are coming from. Now there is nothng wrong with creeping on myspace or facebook, I do it myself, but you have to remember that it is their personal stuff and blatently saying "I remember last month when you had a picture in your album about [insert]" can be more than a little creepy so just try to watch it

I'm the same way. In 7th grade, my principal came into the room and said that "Years from now it won't be important that I wore a navy blue dress today" - to this day, that's still the most vivid part of her entire speech. Even though she said it wouldn't be that important.
