I cant find the energy to apply myself

Im really smart at school, I could have been an honors, the only thing is I cant find the energy to apply myself at home, only at school which caused me to get 2 D's this trimester. I think its mainly because I never feel comfortable doing my homework anyplace in the house but doing it in a school desk just feels more comfortable and helps me apply myself.

Well I feel totally diffrent I do most of my learning at home. School has a certain atmosphere: for someone it's a shrine of knowledge, for others it's just another torturing facility. As for myself I just can't concentrate 100% at school and most of my "achievements"(particularly in math and physics) are done at home.
But I didn't understand why you can't work at home. Could you explain?

I know what you mean. I tend to have trouble focusing on my studies and getting everything done. Partially it would be because I tend to find anything to take time so I don't have to do it. My solution to it is to do homework away from distractions, such as TV, Books, and the Computer. It's working for me and I'm back up to where my grades should be.

For you though, you seem to want one of the desks. Do you have a desk of your own, not necessarily a school type desk, but a desk? If you don't, maybe you should try to get one, it seems to be the thing that you're looking for...Just a thought...

i'm fairly clever, i got good grades at GCSE and should be getting good grades at A-level. However, i have no drive to work. i simply can't be bothered. i just waste my days at home trying to work but i don't. i don't know what to do.

This past year I have been feeling the same way as you have been. Recently, and i'm not sure where i got the energy from, but have been getting a lot more energy for school.

Best thing I could help you with is find some studying music like classical or smooth jazz to listen to when studying and get rid of the destractions.

I also know what you mean. This year especially, I can't concentrate long enough to get an essay done in one or two tries at home. I am getting them done, it's just taking sooo long to do them.
