ok, first off this not a thread to bash american eagle or anything like that.
The American Eagle store at the local mall is hiring, and i was wondering if anybody knows anything about their hiring policies and things. How much experience do you need? do you need to be super hot (ive heard about AF discriminating against people)?
if anyone works there now, that would be awesome if you could tell me or anyone else that might have any idea
or whether it would even be worth it to apply
thanks

my older sister has worked at AF and Hollister, and she isn't really that hott or anything. I was there today and the guy working there was ugly. So i don't really think they descriminate over apperance. the only think i know they do for sure is require you to wear there clothes. so part of your pay check will be spent there, and you get like 30% discount i think.

My brother worked at AE for some time, he never had many complaints about it. Just be prepared to spend $$$ on their clothes though

thanks for the help, as of now i probably will apply
but for the ones that did have people that worked at these places, how old where they? and if you could ask if they remember anything about age restrictions.

You should go into the store.. don't ask us. We aren't the people hiring!

No, American Eagle isn't as discriminating as A&F. I never go there anymore and I never will. My friend applied to A&F and they told him that wasn't attractive enough. They say that a customer would rather be helped with someone with a better appearance because it makes their expirence shopping better. (I think that is a horrible excuse, it got me really pissed.)

I'm not sure if this is true everywhere but in my town (which is a college town, hence me not knowing if this is normal practise at AE or not) they almost never hire anyone under 18 unless they have an amazing resume. Most of the people working at the one in town are majoring in things like fashion or costume design which is why they don't hire anyone else unless they have a really good resume.

My brother was 21, I also had a friend who worked there she was 19 and another friend who was 20. A guy who worked there was 17...other then that, I'm pretty sure they were 20+ in age
