I've never had a true friend.. If I think I've found one, they always seem to throw it back in my face.. Does one of the moderaters, Ladder Man for example, have any personal suggestions or ideas of what characteristics or actions I should expect true friends to give me? Am I supposed to have broken promises made to me? Am I not supposed to receive a reply to text messages when I'm really upset, day or night? Should I be being ignored? What's the story? Has anyone had a true friend who would like to share their secrets with me?!! vicky -x-

there is no real secret to friendship....you just seem to have bonds with people and then you become friends....believe me, ive been dumped on my many friends and even dumped on a few of mine...sometimes people just grow apart....maybe your problem is that you are too shy or something

I try my hardest thought. I am not shy when I'm with the right people. Surely I'll know when I've found that person, right..? Although.. Many times, I have thought I have found that person.. But I was wrong..

I know this is going to sound incredibally corny, but be yourself, faults and all (this statement has alot of truth to it.) You may have less friends if you are youself, but then the ones you do have won't be as superfical.

yeah...just be yourself....and dont just look for one person either....just try to get to know the people that you think have the same interests/hobbies as you and im sure you'll find some friends

Just be yourself. I have maybe 10 true friends, yet I know they won't be leaving me anytime soon. Some I've known for 23 years (since Kindergarten). If you're friends with kids of similar interests, you'll find that you can really get along. I know 5000 people in my city, yet only really associate with 10, maybe 20 at most.
